Genre
Introduction
In year 13 we made the following film opening with the following
genre mystery/thriller called ‘where the guilt lies’. The media genre
conventions we used subverted and conformed our film opening.
Paragraph 1
For our research for media conventions we have 3 films that
inspired us. The first film was ‘The Lovely Bones’ this is a mystery/horror about
a girl that is found dead and murdered in a field. For this film and our film opening
the genre was the same. I found out from researching about that film that it
was set in a field and a street. I learned that having enigma code in the film
was more interesting for the viewers like The Lovely Bones does. In ‘The Lovely Bones’ we used a young character
like the character in lovely bones. This film also has a lot of enigma code,
which we really wanted to use in our film opening so you don’t find out till
the end who done it. Another film we used is ‘the girl on the train’ we learned
from the film that the main character is trying to solve a murder. We thought
we could include trying to solve a murder mystery in our film. In the film ‘the
disappearance of Alice creed’ we liked the idea how she was taken in a suburban
street. This in our film where our character was seen walking around before she
was murdered.
